Yoga Essentials (Capitol Hill Yoga)
Yoga Essentials is for students early in their yoga path and for those wishing to enhance their basic knowledge of foundational yoga postures, key actions and principles of alignment. Each class begins with a centering followed by a warm up designed to link breath and movements and open up the major parts of the body. The class proceeds into guiding students into basic yoga postures that invigorate the body through increased strength, flexibility, and range of motion. Special attention is paid to easing into postures and finding proper alignment. Each class ends with a cool down followed by a final, deep relaxation. We encourage students who are brand new to yoga to find comfort and a slower pace of introduction in the Yoga Basics series. Once basic postures and principles are learned, students are encouraged to move into the Open Yoga (All Levels) classes.
