3 Reasons to Enroll in Yoga Teacher Training

I’m really proud of the fact that teachers who graduate from yoga teacher training with me have the skills to teach solid, inspiring, and supportive yoga classes even before they graduate from the program.

However, learning to teach yoga postures to others is only a small part of what you’ll get when you participate in yoga teacher training.

Here are three reasons that you should consider joining my upcoming 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program with Machelle Lee at Roots & River Yoga.

1. Cultivating Curiosity

I just finished reading Katherine May’s latest book called Enchantment. Told in vignettes from her own life, she invites us to consider our lost sense of wonder and enchantment, both as individuals and as a collective.

If you have found yourself feeling dull and uninspired, your curiosity might need a jump start and yoga teacher training is a place to do just that. You’ll have opportunities to be curious about your own mind, body, and spirit, while you learn approaches for inviting others to experience that same sense of curiosity about their mind, body, and spirit.

2. Being in Community

Finding welcoming communities of like-minded folks can sometimes feel challenging, especially as we are all coming out of the COVID years of isolation.

In the Roots & River 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program, you will feel welcomed and accepted from day one and immediately begin building long-lasting relationships with your fellow trainees. You will be part of a powerful community of yogis, studying alongside folks who share a love and reverence for a common practice. These similarities, as well as your unique gifts and perspectives, will be named and celebrated throughout the program.

3. Communicating Clearly and Compassionately

There’s a fine line between telling folks what they should and should not do and being a compassionate space-holder for someone’s experience. In this program, you’ll learn how to deliver clear and precise instructions that feel like enticing invitations for self-inquiry.

Communicating the techniques and practices of yoga so that they are accessible builds your capacity to communicate more clearly and with more compassion in all aspects of your life.

Well? Are you ready?

The 2023-24 cohort for this transformative program is forming now and we await your application! We begin in December 2023.
