Course Description

In Strength & Flow: Bands & Blocks, we will employ the use of resistance bands for a low impact workout to engage stabilizer muscles and move with more range of motion and flexibility. Using bands instead of weights can be helpful to those who are intimidated by strength training, and can let you dip your toes in the water of resistance training in a fun and creative way. We will use two specific bands: a booty band (a wide, tighter band that typically goes around the thighs or calves), and a theraband (or theraband imitation; it is a long open loop resistance band that you can use for a multitude of movements). After our strength portion with the bands, we will move into a slow yoga flow displaying creative ways to use blocks in your practice, giving you an array of options to support yourself through standing and passive floor shapes. All levels are welcome and beginners are encouraged to join!
