Journey to Delight
International Yoga Retreat

September 6-12, 2026

Umbria, Italy

In classical Indian thought, rasa – literally “juice” or “liquid” – are the emotions you feel when you experience something profound. Āsvāda – relishing or savoring – the rasa as they arise, especially in times of delight, is a powerful practice for reconnecting to and building your capacity for joy.

Umbria, known as the “Green Heart” of Italy, is the destination for this week-long yoga retreat to help you slow down and intentionally pause to appreciate all things enjoyable. A hidden gem of a fourteenth-century Italian farmhouse turned retreat center has been beautifully renovated with modern amenities. Surrounded by a nearly untouched landscape of rolling green hills, this is the perfect place to reconnect with what satisfies you most.

The twice-daily yoga classes are designed to support you on your journey to delight. You will learn to bask in the wonder of your embodiment with practices that include yoga philosophy, chanting, meditation, purposeful active movement, and deeply restful Restorative Yoga.

Not all enjoyment happens on a yoga mat, and the spaciousness of the week’s schedule allows plenty of time for you to discover and do whatever pleases you most. Wander among the ancient trees and beautiful flowering plants on the property. Luxuriate in the one-of-a-kind spring water pool and jacuzzi amidst a system of waterfalls formed by volcanic rocks. Marvel at the rich history and culture of Italy on a guided tour of the nearby town. Savor delicious farm-to-table meals and locally made fine Italian wine. Linger in sweet conversations with friends, old and new. Indulge in spa treatments or afternoon naps in your well-appointed historic room.

Journey with Tara and a supportive and encouraging community of like-minded souls to savor in all things delightful on this epic yoga vacation. Join us to deepen your connection to wonder, delight, and enjoyment by resting deeply and moving freely so you can come home to yourself with better access to your capacity for joy.

“I found that when I’m on a retreat, far away from home, I’m able to relax much more and focus on giving myself the self-care that I know I need but that I don’t always give myself. I decided to bring Sophia because I wanted to have an opportunity to have a mother-daughter trip and because I’m hopeful that perhaps she will also try yoga and see what possibilities open up for her."
