Course Description
Build strength and find rest in this invigorating 60-minute class designed to challenge your body with 30 minutes of strength training and calm your mind with 30 minutes of yoga. The strength portion focuses on functional strength training using bodyweight and dumbbells. We will engage in compound movements that serve the larger muscle groups for a full body workout. The second half transitions into a gentle yoga flow with long held passive stretches to affect the areas we worked during the strength section. Perfect for all levels, this class is a representation that we need all different types of movement in our daily practices; strength and weight lifting to tend to our muscles and bones as we age, and yoga to remain flexible, limber, and mentally resilient. For this series, you will need: -a set of dumbbells (min. two 5 or 8lb dumbbells; no exercises exceed 20lbs) -two blocks -one bolster (or bed pillows/folded blankets)
